Babies have 58 more bones than adults
You are born with about 270 bones, but by the time you become an adult, you only have 212. This is because many of the bones fuse together. Babies’ skulls also fuse together. Babies’ skulls are soft so that they can squeeze through the birth canal. After about 18 months the head bones fuse together.
