The Haast’s Eagle was a the largest eagle that ever lived.

- 40% bigger than the golden eagle
- Attacked at speeds of 80kmph
- Striking force equal to a cinder block falling from an eight-story building.
- Hunted the Moa; a 9ft ostrich-like bird about the same size as a North American Black Bear
- The Maori say it hunted people too
