Yo-Yos are banned in Syria
Since 1933 Yo-Yos have been banned in Syria. That year the country experienced drought and severe cold affecting the cattle.
The Muslim chiefs at Damascus attributed the wrath of the heavens to the recent introduction of the yo-yo. They exposed the evil influence of yo-yos, so they were immediately banned.
The police patrolled the streets and confiscated yo-yos from everyone they saw playing with them.
