How to make wine with ketchup
In US prisons inmates aren’t allowed alcohol so they make their own. They call it prison wine, ‘pruno’ or toilet wine. To make alcohol all you need is sugar and yeast.
Oranges are a popular source of sugar but people have also used tinned fruit cocktail, potatoes, candy, sauerkraut and even collecting up those little sachets of tomato ketchup. They then put this in a garbage bag with water and a piece of old bread for the yeast and let nature do its thing.
This is not recommended at home as many inmates have died of botulism (a sort of food poisoning that causes paralysis.)
